Born in the Land of the Thunder Dragon

I am a Bhutanese-born User Experience Designer who thrives on crafting thoughtful, user-centered solutions that connect people with technology in meaningful ways. Whether it’s sketching big ideas with a cup of coffee in hand or brainstorming personal projects, design is where my curiosity comes to life.

As a UX designer, I live for the sweet spot where creativity meets strategy. From diving deep into user research and designing seamless prototypes to leading impactful projects, I’m all about creating meaningful, human-centered solutions.

My Design Story

I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Accounting & Finance (yes, numbers were once my thing), but life had other plans

During an internship with Bhutan NDI under Druk Holdings & Investments (the financial and commercial arm of the Royal Government of Bhutan), I discovered the world of UX design. What started as a casual curiosity quickly turned into a full-blown obsession. I found myself captivated by the process of solving problems creatively, designing intuitive systems, and always advocating for the user’s perspective.

I was eventually offered the role of UI/UX designer for Bhutan NDI, marking the start of my journey into user-centered design. As a self-taught designer fueled by passion, I spent two years designing solutions that have made a tangible impact on the world of digital identity. This project taught me invaluable lessons about designing for accessibility, scalability, and cultural relevance–principles I carry with me into every project I take on.

Life at the Moment

I am currently pursuing my Master of Information (User Experience Design) at the University of Toronto. Each day is an opportunity to build my skills, collaborate with brilliant minds, and explore the ever-evolving landscape of design. Of course, no day is complete without a cup of coffee to start my day and fuel my creativity.

Beyond Design

When I’m not in design mode, you’ll find me exploring Bhutan’s scenic trails, cozying up with fantasy fiction in my book nook, or sketching illustrations while my fur baby, Karo, keeps me company. I’m an unapologetic homebody pursuing knitting projects, experimenting with new recipes, or tending to other DIY projects. Feeding my loved ones is my love language, and I’m always looking for cozy cafes with warm vibes.
